The fit and finish of this hat is wonderful and it comes professionally packed! The only issue I had is it was way small. I wear a 7 1/2 and ordered it that way, but it really wouldn't fit on my head. I ordered size up and fits fine. I like it old school.I have been wearing cowboy hats all of my life, and I thought I would give this hat a try, since I liked the shape of it...a real 1880's style shape, made by a reputable hat maker.. needless to say it arrived in a box that was to small for the hat, at it was just stuffed in the box with no regard for the shape of the brim... it was bent pretty bad. I wear a solid 7 1/8 in any GOOD makers cowboy hat..this one I ordered a 7 1/8 and it felt like a 6 3/4 it was way to small. I should have known better to order a wool felt hat. If you've been accustom to wearing a 4 X or higher fur felt hat ...Like I have for many years...this hat is not what you want. I didn't look for origin of manufacture but I'd bet my boots it says China.Really nice hat - good as a dress hat too.About 1/8 size smallThe fit is perfect, and it looks great too!
